Online Discover Card Activation via Discover.com/activate
Discover.com/activate is the simplest and quickest way to activate your Discover card.
Go to Discover.com/activate in a web browser.
Open your Discover account and log in. Put in your password and username. Click "Register" to establish an account if you don't already have one.
Enter your card information. Give the 3-digit security code, the 16-digit Discover card number, and the expiration date.
To confirm your identification, you might be asked to enter your birthdate and the final four digits of your SSN.
Verify the activation. Press the "Activate" button to finish this step.
Use your card now. Your Discover card is available for purchases as soon as the activation process is complete.
Discover Card Activation via the Discover Mobile App
You can activate your Discover card via the mobile app rather than Discover.com/activate if you would rather use your smartphone.
Download the Discover app on your phone. Download the app from the Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS.
Open your Discover account and log in. To log in, use your registered login information.
Locate the activation option in the app menu and proceed to the card activation section.
Put in your card information. Give the security code, expiration date, and 16-digit card number.
Verify your identity. For security reasons, you might be asked to provide more information.
Full activation Press "Activate" to complete the procedure.
Use your card now. Similar to when you activate it at Discover.com/activate, your Discover card is immediately usable after activation.
Discover Card Activation via Phone Call
Instead of visiting Discover.com/activate, you can call customer care to activate your Discover card if you'd rather do it that way.
To contact Discover customer service, dial 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) using the number you registered.
Pay attention to the prompts and choose the activation choice as you follow the automated procedures.
Give your card information. Enter the security code, expiration date, and 16-digit card number.
Verify your identity. For authentication, you can be asked for your Social Security number and other personal information.
Verify activation your card will be activated immediately after the information has been confirmed.
Your Discover card will work exactly as it would if you had activated it at Discover.com/activate after activating it over the phone.
